Ryan is passionate about enhancing marketing for the country’s best bicycle dealers. With more than 20 years of related experience, Ryan has worked in almost every aspect of the bicycle retail distribution network, from turning wrenches at the local bike shop to launching new products for Trek Bicycle Corporation. Before joining SmartEtailing, Ryan founded Harvest Retail Marketing, a leader in marketing solutions for the independent bike dealer. His diverse background has engendered a deep understanding about the challenges facing independent retailers and the importance of implementing proven solutions to grow those businesses.
Ryan’s aim is to help retailers maximize their long-term growth and profitability. This belief has helped him build lasting partnerships with many of the nation's top bicycle dealers. Ryan holds a B.A. in political science from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and can often be found exploring new trails on a mountain bike or riding one of his two tandems.
David is proud to help independent retailers engage consumers through a variety of web based technologies. Before joining SmartEtailing, David spent more than twelve years as an independent bike shop owner, cultivating a deep understanding of what it takes to succeed in the industry. Prior to that, he developed extensive experience working with brick and mortar businesses as a retail store designer and merchandising consultant.
David holds a B.S. in business marketing from Northern Michigan University and an M.B.A in business administration and management from Indiana Wesleyan University. When he's not at work, David can usually be found exploring new trails on his mountain bike. In colder months, his outdoor pursuits shift to skiing, hockey, and the occasional fatbike adventure.
Ashley has a passion for storytelling and helping independent bicycle dealers find their unique voice. Before joining SmartEtailing, she served as lead account manager for Harvest Retail Marketing in Omaha, Nebraska, where she helped some of the nation's largest bicycle retailers hone their marketing strategies.
A native of Omaha, she completed her undergraduate degree at University of Nebraska with a triple major in marketing, management, and entrepreneurship, then spent two years building her portfolio as a design and marketing expert in Chicago. As project manager for one of the trade show industry's premier suppliers, Ashley managed the production of tension fabric structures, wide format graphics, and specialty signage for a variety of markets.
With a history of website innovation in the bike industry, Alex brings deep experience in developing and delivering omnichannel sales and marketing strategies that drive traffic and launch products. Prior to SmartEtailing, Alex served as the retail digital marketing manager for Trek Bicycle Corporation and as the marketing director for Food Fight Inc.
Alex holds a B.A. in communication arts from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Kailash’s career expertise is in web-based e-commerce solutions. Prior to joining SmartEtailing, Kailash was Architect/Team Lead at Unibex, a B2B e-marketplace and e-commerce platform. Early in his tenure at Unibex, Kailash was responsible for developing key portions of the Web site builder and Catalog builder. Kailash joined SmartEtailing in 2000 as an Architect/Developer and has been an integral part of the company's growth.
Kailash earned a B.E. from the University of Pune, India. He is a Certified Scrum Master (CSM), and was instrumental in introducing Agile practices to the development team. His new passion is running, but he still spends plenty of time on his road bike and relaxing in his backyard.
Paul and his team recognize the unique needs of independent retailers and seek to find the best solutions for each store. Paul is passionate about helping retailers get the most from their online investment dollars and brings a depth of experience to help SmartEtailing’s client’s navigate the world of omnichannel retailing.
Paul received his B.A. in communication from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee while working at a local ski shop. After spending 13 years in the financial services industry, he returned to his roots working at Action Village, Team Cyclist, and Speed Goat Bicycles before joining SmartEtailing in 2011. He is happiest when surrounded by snow and mountains.
Liam is focused on providing exciting, high-quality content that helps independent bicycle dealers improve the consumer shopping experience. Before he joined SmartEtailing, Liam managed a small team in the research department of Cision, a large public relations software-as-a-service company.
In 2014, Liam donned a stars and stripes jersey to represent the United States in the Pan-American Championships on the velodrome in Aguascalientes, Mexico. These days his search for excellence has moved from the velodrome to SmartEtailing, and he rides more for fun than competition. With a degree in journalism and creative writing from Miami University in Ohio, he's stoked to help tell the simple, yet amazing, story of how pleasurable it is to ride a bicycle.
Jon is passionate about helping bicycle brands succeed and independent retailers thrive. Since joining SmartEtailing in 2005, he has worked to integrate data and services into products that seamlessly connect brands to retailers and customers.
Prior to SmartEtailing, Jon spent fifteen years in bicycle retail, managing and co-owning a successful single-store operation that was recognized as one of America’s Top 100 Dealers. An early adopter of online sales technology and electronic marketing, Jon began using SmartEtailing solutions for his store in 2001. Jon began riding and racing in 1985. Once an Alabama State Criterium champion, he now favors long distance road rides and exploring his local trails after dark.
